The present \u2018parish church\u2019 is consecrated to Saint Bartholomew. It was built at the beginning of the 13th century and was considerably enlarged at the turn of the century, up to 1680, when the \u2018Voltone\u2019 was built above the present Via Prevosto Felice Piana and the presbytery was raised.<\/p>\n
In those same years, the \u2018Theatre or Triumph of the Immaculate Conception\u2019 was built, later called \u2018lobietto\u2019 by the people, to host the administrators of the County of Novara in their oath of public loyalty.<\/p>\n
It became a Collegiate Church with a Papal Bull by Pope Innocent XI on 16th April 1681 and has been governed by a provost ever since.<\/p>\n
The church houses some remarkable frescoes and canvases painted by famous painters between the 14th and 17th centuries.<\/p>\n
Entering the church, visitors can admire the Baroque high altar signed by Antonio Pini in 1667 and the paintings attributed to Morazzone depicting Saint Charles and Saint Roch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
