{"id":3556,"date":"2021-10-27T11:15:26","date_gmt":"2021-10-27T11:15:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visitborgomanero.it\/monte-fenera-nature-park\/"},"modified":"2021-10-27T11:15:26","modified_gmt":"2021-10-27T11:15:26","slug":"monte-fenera-nature-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visitborgomanero.it\/en\/monte-fenera-nature-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Monte Fenera Nature Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are plenty of opportunities to discover the wonders of <strong>Monte Fenera Nature Park<\/strong>, from a <strong>short walk<\/strong> for everyone, or <strong>climbing to the summit<\/strong> with a circumnavigation of the mountain.<\/p>\n<h3>The Park<\/h3>\n<p>It is named after <strong>Mount Fenera<\/strong>, the mountain rising above the foothills of Lower Valsesia and whose profile is recognisable from the Novara and Vercelli plain.<br \/>\nMount Fenera shows many <strong>caves<\/strong> on its western slopes. Some caverns are of great <strong>archaeological and palaeontological interest<\/strong>, as they have revealed unique signs in Piedmont of the presence of Neanderthal man and the Cave Bear, which became extinct some 20,000 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Mount Fenera is a real <strong>microcosm<\/strong> welcoming many guests of excellence, including the <strong>black stork<\/strong>, a very rare species that has been visiting the park for some years, the <strong>wallcreeper,<\/strong> and the <strong>peregrine falcon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The flora of the park also features some rare plants such as the <strong>Alpine daphne<\/strong>, the <strong>wild vine<\/strong>, the <strong>hart&#8217;s tongue fern,<\/strong> and the <strong>royal fern<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The park also houses several architectural structures, such as the <strong>Sanctuary of the Crucifix in Boca<\/strong>, an example of architect Alessandro Antonelli&#8217;s experimental design, and the neoclassical churches in <strong>Soliva<\/strong> and <strong>Castagnola<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are plenty of opportunities to discover the wonders of Monte Fenera Nature Park, from a short walk for everyone, or climbing to the summit with a circumnavigation of the mountain.
